The two institutions initialed the partnership agreement which binds them for two years, on June 20, 2023 at the headquarters of the Platform of Local Flour Promoters in Cameroon (PROFALCAM) in Yaoundé.
The Platform of Local Flour Promoters in Cameroon (PROFALCAM) has a new partner. This is the firm ELESYST Sarl. The terms of their engagement were initialed on June 20 during a ceremony which brought together representatives of both parties: George Mbanda, President of PROFALCAM and Eric Eloundou Ngah, Managing Director of Cabinet ELESYST Sarl. Also taking part in the ceremony, all the central staff of PROFALCAM as well as Stève Assa Mvilongo, Head of Financial Rating and Funding Research at ELESYST Sarl.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the review of the partnership agreement and the integration of the latest observations. One after another, without rushing, the various articles of this convention have been combed through. The President of PROFALCAM ensuring each time the satisfaction of both parties. The new partners were thus able to truly establish the conditions of the alliance which now binds them. Among the observations noted, we can cite the registration of the members of the monitoring committee and the adjustment of certain articles of the preamble. It is therefore satisfied that the two representatives initialed each of the pages of the agreement.
Moreover, from his introductory word, the President of PROFALCAM, said his joy to formalize the exchanges initiated between the two entities for about four months. For him, “this partnership does not only represent a business opportunity for PROFALCAM. Much more, a way to ensure that Cameroonians will be able to eat at their end”. A statement confirmed by ERIC Eloundou Ngah. The latter adds that “the partnership between ELESYST and PROFALCAM announces a new 7RE. Because it is a new initiative which will certainly attract other partners”.
Cabinet ELESYST Sarl is responsible for providing PROFALCAM with its expertise in terms of advisory support and financial intermediation for MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises) members of the platform and its partners. The firm has existed since 2005 and has proven expertise in the supervision and financing of SMEs, assistance to banks and MFIs and the training of banking and SME management professionals.
PROFALCAM, on the other hand, is a non-profit association that networks the various players in the local flour value chain (seed producers, farmers, processors, bakers, consumers). It was created on August 23, 2022, at the end of a constitutive General Assembly chaired by the Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey. PROFALCAM is thus a support mechanism for the Cameroonian Government in the implementation of the National Development Strategy 2020-2030 (SND 30), specifically with regard to the import substitution policy for mass consumption products and export promotion.
